This weekend I've been in a post-Thanksgiving haze. The holiday was quiet, and I really didn't even overeat. It's just that I so enjoyed having three or four days off that I pattered around the house doing all sorts of things when I should have been writing. My third book, KILLERTRUST, is supposed to be out after the first of the year, and if I don't get to writing, I won't make my deadline.
Thanksgiving day was absolutely beautiful here in Southeast Missouri, so I felt compelled to get Cami out of the garage and take her for a spin. Cami, for those who haven't read my Rhetta McCarter mysteries, KILLERWATT and KILLERFIND, is a 1979 Camaro Rally Sport. My protagonist borrows her for her adventures.
Cami performed beautifully as I cruised up and down the two lane roads that serve our rural county. I waved to lots of folks, because Cami turns a lot of heads.
I reluctantly put her back in her garage at sundown, and headed for the house, my two cats and my sweet little Yorkie. My husband, Bill, also sweet, was spending the same time with his sisters and all their children in South Carolina.
The house was mine alone and I reveled in it.
Monday it's back to work in the real world.
But my time off was terrific.

  1. I guess my post-Thanksgiving haze extends to my third book. It's actually KILLERTRUST. And since I don't know how to edit my post now that it's posted. I'm just adding my correction as a comment. Maybe I'll get the hang of this. Maybe not. I did spend most of the day today trying to figure out my new Google Nexus 7, and my brain is fried. That's what my next post will be about: Google fried brain.

  4. welcome to the wonderful world of blogging. I have four and can't keep up with 'em but they are fun. Wait..five.
Not that I have much to say really. Now for muscle cars. had a Mustang one. no three times. When I met my hubby he drove a 65 Mustang. Stick shift. I asked him if I could shift gears for him. Hve been for 42 years now. hee hee. We sold it for a song. Said I'd never turn over the title to that car but never say never. So we bought another to redo and another for parts. Never happened Sold them after I threatened to mover both outta my garage myself. Anyway. it's fun. Wishing you lots of comments

    1. In 1971 I had a 1966 Mustang. It was unlucky for me-kept finding its way into trees and poles, so I sold it and bought a 1972 Dodge van. In 1976 I bought a Camaro. Thus was born my love affair with the muscle cars.
